Encouraging Children To Read More Books

Kids have the perfect mindset to get lost in the joy of a good book. Books for kids are ultimately the inspiration for healthy imaginative play, long term reading skills, and even the springboard for theoretical conversation at the dinner table. While kids are often on the go and don't take the time to slow down for a good read, introducing your kids to the joy of reading a good book isn't as insurmountable as it seems. A little creativity on the parent's behalf, and you will have a budding reader reluctantly putting their book down to move onto life's other demands.

Books for kids help to develop their already active imaginations. There really is no such thing as an unimaginative child, just kids with varying imaginative qualities. While one child might be able to imagine underwater cities and create friends from thin air, other children might be conjuring up the next Windows application or mentally developing the technology to hook up 12 gaming systems to a single television without ever unplugging a system again. Developing your child's unique imagination through books starts with what they are already showing you on a daily basis.

The reasonable argument for enticing kids to read books that are outside of their element includes expanding their horizons. Of course, over time, that's a fabulous idea. For the immediate enticement stage, it is more likely to be a successful venture if kids are reading books that interest them from the title to the back cover. Let them choose their own books. Nearly all American children's presses are highly selective about child and young adult reading material. Children who read age appropriate books are not likely to run into objectionable material. However, parents can usually read a thick young adult book in a few hours if there is any concern relating to material.

For the obstinate television watching child, a family reading hour is a great way to entice your children to read books. Start small. Give the entire family a half an hour to read their book and then twenty minutes or so to talk about what they are reading. Chances are, by the end of the first week, the kids will be requesting a few more minutes to finish their chapter or will even take the book into their bedroom to continue after family reading hour has concluded. Younger children will benefit from being read to from books for kids.

Books for kids that stay within their vocabulary limits (with a few challenges for good measure) are more likely to hold their attention than books written on an adult level with language that is too hard for children to grasp. An over achiever may want to break out Shakespeare at the age of eight, but they are not likely to get much out of it, even if they won't admit it. If children are being read to, it is acceptable to bump up the language a notch or two, as children can often hear the language used and understand it much faster than if they are trying to read it and comprehend it.

Finding books for kids that they will love and you will enjoy having them read can be easily done online. Bookstores are great for titles that are unknown and new authors. Online bookstores often carry out of print books, significantly reduced books, and books that are a little "out of the way" and unique for the hard to please child. Online book selections are easier for parents to determine than for kids. Often kids need more than a page of text to know whether they think the book is perfect or not. Encouraging them to read a series of books for kids can keep them reading for a long time, and then the habit will be well established and moving onto the next title is simple.

Books for kids have a lot of competition these days. Television with 24 hour a day, 7 days a week cartoon and specialized children's programming, computer games, video games, gadgets that fit in their pocket, DVD players in the car, and there's probably a few kids out there with electronic gizmos on their bikes are all competing for a kid's attention. Turning them into an avid books for kids lover takes a little disciplined creativity at first. Rules about the electronic gadgets and gizmos can help establish reading time and story time before bed (what kid doesn't want to delay bedtime?) can help offset the chronic competition that books for kids face. Parents who love to read are more likely to have kids who love to read. Parents who can at the very least appreciate the books for kids and delve into a book for an hour a day can teach their children to love books. Parents who read to their kids help establish a great vocabulary, better communication skills, and have a marvelous and special bond centered around some very special books for kids.

A kindly Man Story

Once upon a time, there was a kindly man, wanting to buy a chainsaw for his farm, he spent months thinking about it, he knew he wants the chainsaw for his farm, but then the farm did not need a chainsaw however, when he finally made a decision, he bought it. For weeks and months, this kindly man walks miles away wandering into the forest, with the chainsaw in his hand.

The kindly man knew that he wanted something, but could not define what it is, and why he wanted something. This kindly man, wanders around the forest for ages, not knowing why he is there, or which tree he shall cut.

During sleep, the kindly man saw an imposing, and illuminating shimmering lights descending from above. "indecision, huh? says the lights, with deep and soft awe inspiring voice.

The kindly man looked up, and asked the Shimmering light to help him make a decision, "please help, please help," says the kindly man. The light formed into trillion upon trillion of glittering sphere of coloured lights, opening like a sun flower turning toward the sun, but this time, turning toward the kindly man, shining upon his kindly face, and says, you have already made a decision, but you are doubting yourself, and your past residual self is holding you back.

Let go from the past, forgive all those who hurt you, and forgive yourself, when you do that, the universe will conspire to clarify your vision. However, when you answer the 'why' questions, about your desire to find purpose and meaning in your life, your dreams become a self prophecy.

The kindly man woke up determined to find the 'why', over sudden, he realises that the huge cottage house he lived in needs total revamp, and making it into a holiday cottage home. His deceased wife always wanted to run the huge cottage house into a business, but her husband, the kindly man, never knew how.

Most of us, at one time or another get lost in our vision of the future, and all of us need a mentor, coach to mirror back to us the areas, the beliefs, and the perception that allude and lead us into the road most travelled, the dark side of the tunnel. One of the most inspiring moments in our lives is recognising the need for mentoring, and taking action toward it.

What is coaching/mentoring? Coaching is a process, which identifies barriers to success, health, and happiness, and encourages Moral self-autonomy. Coaching is geared morally and ethically toward helping you achieve results, results that you can experience, see, feel, and measure.

Coaching has moved beyond the traditional therapies which dwells in the past, coaching is about the here and now, and how to plan for the future. Socrates says "the unexamined life is not worth living" this may be interpreted as I call it ' the unexamined belief has severe consequence' thus it is the unplanned life which is not worth living.

"if Your Life is Worth Living, it is Worth Planning"

How does coaching/mentoring work? Without your willingness and determination to seek renewal, a coach will not take you on, simply because some individuals are not yet ready for change, growth and success. Once you convince your mentor coach that you are ready, the process of creativity, resourcefulness and personal power begin to unleash from within you. The coaching work process aims to ask an intuitive question about set backs or crisis, and find empowering solutions, to be put into action, to help you regain personal power by taking action, and it is through specific kind of intelligent actions that leads to successful and intelligent results.

How often should I be mentored and how long will I need coaching/mentoring for? You hold the power, you make that decision, and you go with the flow of the kind of results you feel you are achieving. Some leaders require a trainer or a coach for as long as they keep achieving results. Think of a football coach, think of athlete coach, think of schoolteacher, or a counsellor. Each individual may require specific time scale, some choose to have a permanent coach, e.g: investors, leaders, celebrities, sport men and women, others need short term coaching, maybe once a week of a 12 weeks duration, or once a month session. The good thing about having technology now, is that you can choose to remain anonymous, and be coached in the comfort of your own home, using emails, phone calls, or if you decide that face to face coaching is something you prefer. Your coach is always available via different medium of communication.

What kind of people who use coaching/mentoring? In my experience, I have had clients of different status, and cultural and educational background. The most success driven individuals are people like celebrities, civil servants, Lords, MPs, teachers, investors, entrepreneurs, career movers, sports men/women, men and women preparing for their retirement (adjustment) to manual and office workers.

What do these people get out of coaching/mentoring after while?

You feel in great shape and stand tall in front of people who underestimated you, and can stand up to adversity. You gain knowledge, concrete, precise and become virtually invincible to challenges. You increase your winning potentials, with your strategy toward victory. You meet challenges with fun, self-assurance, and knowledge. You present yourself impressively, have plenty of charm, seduction and your finances begin to double You have a strong posture You are very linkable, have a great soul and you become extremely pleased with how your life is going. You have many talents and take advantage of them all. You are diligent, richer, and noble in your deeds You have immense energy required to succeed. You are a solution finder, and result driven. You are successful in all areas, have no fear but only aspirations you follow through, and you will make others succeed You contribute to society with total commitment and have invincible explosiveness and power.

Kindly man: What is ' true' success' really?

Andre: True success become apparent when you begin to feel that you want to make everyone rich, healthy, and happier. by doing so, you increase your happiness, health and wealth. This is the true success.

What is a 'true Leader

Andre: A leader is some one who points you to the right direction, serves others with pure intention, and help you become successful.

The kindly man: Interesting, I met few so called Leaders, they ignore you if you don't rise to their status, or not rich enough to be considered or allowed into their circle., I find out that elitists are the prime example, and most of them behave cynically and live an unhappy life. Why despite their excellent education, and eloquence, they end up unsatisfied with life?

Andre: because a man is never really that successful, never a leader, until he feels the passion to want to serve his/her community, to empower and enrich society.

You Are NEVER a Leader Until You Learn How to Bring Out The Leader In Others!

TESTIMONIES This is NUTS!! I began using the Incantation, Andre calls it Script programming, I listened to Mp3 for15 minutes a day and 15 minutes in bed before sleep. On Friday of that third week, I felt a sudden 'change' and obliterated my fear of public speaking, or speaking to ANYONE!! Anonymous client

I found solutions to many of my problems, Andre call them 'challenges' I learnt to resolve 'challenges' while having great fun, laughing much and often. Mike, retired diplomat, Hampshire

A month later, I had became an insanely FUN person IN ALL AREAS OF MY LIFE... ALL! I no longer offend or do drugs.Anonymous

I overcome my timidity, fears, inferiority complex, etc. This has helped me enormously both personally AND professionally! I'm A Believer Now!!" James from London

I sought his professional help after a heart problem that I had experienced when I was advised by my G.P to seek counselling and stress therapy in order to help me cope more effectively with the execution of my role as a House Master at a private college. I engaged Andre to help me and he has been very beneficial.

I have gained enormously from his care, and counselling skills, relaxation techniques and lessons on guided meditation. He is a remarkable person, wise and compassionate. His ability to relate to problems and to challenge his patients or clients to seek renewal has been uplifting for me. In particular, I have been impressed by his integrity and single mindedness.I value his skills highly. I regard him as a most sympathetic and spiritual person who is likely to enrich the lives of all who come into contact with him.Neil from Sussex.

"Knowledgable, patient, deeply caring. My awesome recovery is due to your commitment" John, Hampshire.

" You are a blessing to me, you instilled in me the belief and faith and the power to focus on results and not on symptoms, has helped me recuperate" Helen, Dulwich.

What To Do About Senior Day Care

Senior day care Centers are a growing business, but to many these are a new concept. Still, they provide safe surroundings for loved ones while caregivers work, run errands or just seek respite.

Senior Day Care is sometimes called adult day care. These businesses offer senior day care for those who are older, physically or cognitively disabled and cannot be home alone during the day.

Finding senior day care takes some effort, but those who utilize them have found a great deal of help. ARCH National Respite Network and Resource Center offers some good advice via their fact sheet, Adult Day Care: One Form of Respite for Older Adults. They explain that there are three different types of adult day care. They are Adult day social care, Adult day health care and Alzheimer's or dementia specific adult day care.

They suggest that caregivers do their senior day care research to figure out which type of center will best fit their needs. They also say that quality senior day care programs should include assessments of individual needs before admission, active programming that will offer daily social, recreational and rehabilitive needs of the client. It is also suggested that the senior day care offer a monitored, individual treatment plan. The senior day care facility should offer referrals and offer the criteria for termination. Does the senior day care offer in-house services such as transportation, meals, health screening and monitoring, educational programs and counseling? Is the senior day care facility safe and secure? Does the senior day care follow state and national guidelines?

You can begin searching or senior day care programs via your local or state Association of Aging or even via your local phone book. you will also want to check with the Better Business Bureau and see if they monitor Senior Day Cares. You can contact The National Council on Aging, The Eldercare Locator and the National Adult Day Services to read their guidelines for senior day care services.

Your family physician, friends and neighbors may also be able to recommend a good senior day care service. No matter what, you will always want to ask and check out all references and credentials.

The cost of senior day care can be anywhere from $25 per day to $79 per day. It is reported that many senior day care programs offer a sliding fee so that families can pay according to their income.

NLP Training changes you in minutes not years

Let go of anger, sadness, fear, guilt & any trauma in your past in minutes, not years!

Let me introduce this powerful method with some concepts:

• The essence of our being is love - our Higher Self is a spiritual being, and as such believes in a higher order of thinking - truth, honesty, love, and forgiveness. Our physical bodies are merely vehicles with which we connect and interact, but sometimes we forget that and take things at a physical, tangible level only. We ought to remember our true nature, which is loving and kind and non-judgemental.

• Health is inner peace, healing is letting go of fear - our true measure of health is how mentally peaceful we are, despite our circumstances. To heal we must release our attachment to fear, thus increasing our inner peace.

• We can let go of the past and the future - all of the best philosophies and theologies on the planet talk about living in the here and now - if we did that we would be happy. To feel any anger or sadness or guilt we need to jump into the past. To feel anxious or fearful we must look into the future. Yet feelings of passion, fun, peace, and happiness are all present tense.

Every minute we spend time travelling, we are blind to what's really going on right here. Yet the past and future exist nowhere but in our own minds. They are not real, they are just internal representations. Hence the old adage "The past is history, the future a mystery. Now is a gift, that's why its called the present".

If the past is a source of pain, it's not the events themselves that hurt, because they are over. It's the afterimage of the events. And we can change that.

A BRIEF HISTORY OF TIME LINE THERAPY

1. ARISTOTLE - GREEK PHILOSOPHER IN 300 BC TALKED ABOUT "western minds represent time as a straight line upon which we stand with our gaze directed forward - before us we have the future, and behind us the past. The present is the point on which we are standing, the future is found on some point in front of us." According to Aristotle, we must represent time by the image of a line

2. WILLIAM JAMES, THE FATHER OF MODERN DAY PSYCHOLOGY, wrote in 1890 in his book "Principles of Psychology" "consciousness was like a string of bead like sensations all separate" and "time is but a saddle back with a certain breadth of its own, on which we sit perched & from which we look in 2 directions in time. Date in time corresponds to direction in space. We represent the actual time-stream of our thinking by a horizontal line"

3. MILTON ERICKSON - The world's greatest Hypnotherapist up until his death in 1980 - used hypnosis to age regress people and take them back to significant emotional evens in their past, so they could see them from a whole new perspective and let go of any old unresolved emotions. He had them look down at events from a distance & observe traumatic experiences from afar, and the emotions would disappear

4. In the eighties, Dr Tad James modelled Milton Erickson & applied a therapeutic process to the concept of an internal memory storage system. The result was a collection of techniques, which produces long-lasting transformation very quickly - faster than what is currently called Brief Therapy. These powerful Time Line Therapy™ techniques are becoming the method of choice to make fast, effective, long-term changes in behaviour.

Your "Time Line" is how you unconsciously store your memories or how you unconsciously know the difference between a memory from the past and a projection of the future. The Time Line Therapy™ process allows you to work at the unconscious level and release the effects of past negative experiences and change "inappropriate" programming in minutes rather than days, months or years.

Dynamics GP Partner: Great Plains Customization Notes

Microsoft Dynamics GP, or formerly known as Great Plains Dynamics and eEnterprise, has wide spectrum of programming and modification tools: Dexterity, Modifier with VBA, eConnect, GP SDK, Extender. In this small publication we would like to give you customizing tools orientation session with some emphasis on their evolution, as Great Plains ERP is traditional and matured system with great implementation history and excellent future positions:

1. Microsoft Dexterity, also known as Great Plains Dexterity. This tool is semi proprietary instrument and in order to program Dexterity, you will need to know Sanscript programming language with emphasis on Dex cursors, plus you should know Dynamics GP architecture, which in turn has Dexterity as its fundament. If you make small research and review GP workstation files, you will find Dynamics.dic - business logic metadata, Dex.ini - is Dexterity setup for this specific user, these and other files would give you the idea on Dexterity importance in current Dynamics GP version 10.0 and all the earlier versions. We do not recommend you to take Dexterity training, unless you are facing huge GP development project internally, instead, contact one of Great Plains Technology partners, who is in Dexterity Source Code program, in other words, who has access to Dexterity original sources and scripts

2. eConnect. This tools is great for internal IT programmers, familiar with SQL stored procedures, XML, C# or VB.Net. When you need to create GP master records: customer, vendor, employee, GL account, Address, or so-called Work Transactions: Sales Order Processing Invoice, Purchase Order, Customer Payment - you can do this by deploying eConnect methods, and it will be exactly the same as if you would program them in Dexterity, or enter directly in GP user interface. eConnect doesn't post Dynamics GP batches, but this is something that was initially designed to be under GP user control. If you need to post batches directly from your ecommerce eConnect application, please review Alba Spectrum Posting Server

3. VBA / Modifier. Dynamics GP Modifier module allows you to modify existing forms, by adding buttons or edit fields on them, then you can attach VBA scripts to new objects, and even write records to GP tables by opening VBA ADO connection to SQL Server GP company database. This tool, obviously being primitive, allows you, however, to customize GP user interface reasonably quick and doesn't really require special training, assuming that you are familiar with VBA programming

4. Extender. This tool is in fact a shell, written in Dexterity, it allows you to extend GP screens with the tool, which doesn't require you to be a programmer. If you have relatively moderate Great Plains modification project, you should review Extender, assuming that you have internal IT people, ready to do it

Open Source CRM for Small Business

Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software has become a necessary component for servicing existing customers and tracking new sales leads. Even before the global economic slow down became apparent companies began to investigate the benefits of deploying open source CRM solutions. Open source CRM software is generally available free of charge and is usually accessible as an Internet download.

Today, small and mid-size business owners are using open source CRM software to help streamline their business processes with the expectation of generating more sales opportunities. Open source CRM solutions should be able to manage existing customers, facilitate prospecting, generate online sales leads, launch and track marketing campaigns, analyze customer needs and preferences, integrate with existing applications and provide secure access to company data from any computer with an Internet connection and a browser.

Here are a few keys to selecting the right Open Source CRM solution: • Ensure the open source CRM software you choose has the ability to capture all relevant customer and sales related information. At a minimum, your CRM solution must be able to easily record all interactions with your customers. One of the major benefits of CRM software is in its ability to help collect, store and share data to all appropriate areas in your business -- in real-time.

• Before you deploy an open source CRM tool you must first understand your existing sales and marketing workflow. Your CRM tool must be able to integrate with your existing processes or your sales and marketing team will not use it.

• It is imperative to understand the level of customization you will require. Do you have the required technical skills on staff to implement modifications? Does the CRM tool provide an API (application programming Interface) for extending the platform? Will custom changes prevent future upgrade options? Answering these questions in advance will save you time and money later.

• Determine if the CRM tool can integrate with applications used by your staff. For example, you must know whether the CRM tool can share or exchange data with your email client (e.g. Outlook or Thunderbird). You must also know if the CRM tool provides an easy to use import or export function for data mining and other sales analysis functions.

• Determine the level of support you will require. Most open source providers make their money on service and support rather than software sales. Therefore, you should investigate the various levels of support provided by the open source vendor.

• Research the level and quality of third party extensions. Quite often companies are able to find free or low cost extensions and avoid the expense of internal development. Third party extensions can add needed functionality and save your business time and money. For example, third party payment modules have become a necessary component for accepting electronic payment at the point of sale.

While there are many open source CRM products to choose from here are my top five:

1. SugarCRM 2. Vtiger 3. SplendidCRM 4. CentricCRM 5. XRMS CRM

Be sure to test drive multiple open source CRM tools before deciding which open source CRM application to deploy.

Success According to the World - Success According to God

I've read many books about success back in the '90s; books which included information on the Law of Attraction, sub-lingual programming, the subconscious mind, hypnosis, and other worldly methods for gaining prosperity.

To be honest, all those books left me quite confused. It seemed no matter how hard I tried to gain understanding about how the universe worked, the more confused I became. While I was studying all that, I was also learning the Bible, how to live as a Christian, and how to fulfill God's will for my life.

With one foot in the Bible and one foot in the world, I struggled with my plan for my life verses God's plan for my life. I was being pulled in two different directions, and didn't want to let go of either one.

I realize today that once a person becomes saved, he or she is not their own anymore, but God's.

If we will desire Him as much as He desires us, we will become separated from the world and lose all desire for its attractions. Romans 12:2 says "Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect" (NASB).

God is very jealous for His people, and does not want them learning about the world's ideas for success. He has given us the formula for success in Joshua 1:8 - "Do not let this Book of the Law depart from your mouth; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful" (NIV).
